Dr. Waldo Waldron-Ramsay
Dr. Waldo Emerson Waldron-Ramsay, QC January 1, 1930 went peacefully to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 24, 2018. Dr. Ramsay, affectionately called “Wally”, was a brilliant scholar who up to the time of his death was still speaking Latin in court. He was a defender and friend to the working people of Barbados and he loved his country. As a great statesman of Barbados, he represented his country in several positions, most notably as the Barbadian Ambassador to the United Nations and as the First Barbadian High Commissioner to the Court of St. James: 1970 where he presented his letters of introduction to Queen Elizabeth II.
He was a statesman, scholar, lecturer, advisor, economist, speech writer, politician and historian among other things. He was an outspoken advocate for human rights no matter where in the world people were suffering. He had a love for the Motherland and served Africa for several years as an Economic Advisor and Speech Writer for various African leaders including Julius Nyerere of Tanzania. Dr. Ramsay also served on the Committee that eventually lead to the freeing of the long imprisoned South African Leader, Nelson Mandela.

He leaves to mourn his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Sheila P. Waldron-Ramsay. Four children: Maureen (Graham), Rémona (Ritchie), Jill (Gioron) and Waldo, Jr. Five grandchildren: Joanne, Daniel, David, Raven and Brandon. Two great-grandchildren: Noah and Emerson Rose. One sibling: Hallam (Beryl) and a host of loving relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service of Thanksgiving Celebrating the life of Dr. Waldo Waldron-Ramsay QC will be held on Friday, 03 August, 2018 in the Chapel of Coral Ridge Memorial Gardens, The Ridge, Christ Church where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 9:00 a.m. followed by Cremation at a later date

Dr. Ramsay will be remembered as a man who loved God, his family and his country. For a man who was small in stature, he leaves a very large footprint.

The family wishes to thank everyone for all of the love and support shown them at this time. Please keep them in your prayers. To God be the Glory!
