Aged 90, late of Appleby Gardens, St. James. Retired Principal of Sharon Primary School, entered peacefully in to rest on September 29th, 2025.
She was a member of The Association of Retired Persons (A.R.O.S.E.), Senior Teacher of Wesley Hall and St. James Primary; Principal of River Road Nursery, and served on the Board of Management of The St. Michael School and St. Leonard’s Boys’.
Daughter of the late Rev. DaCosta and Geraldine Brathwaite
Wife of the late Alfred Trotman
Mother of Lisa Trotman (Clerk Typist of St. Matthew’s Primary, Lawrence T. Gay Memorial School and Grazettes Primary) and Marc Trotman (working in the United Kingdom)

A service of celebration and thanksgiving for the life of Ruth Evangeline Trotman takes place on Saturday, October 25th, 2025, at The James Street Methodist Church, St. Michael where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 10:00 a.m.
The funeral will then proceed to Westbury Cemetery for the interment.
Wreaths may be delivered to Downes and Wilson Funeral Home, Eagle Hall, St. Michael no later than 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, 25th October 2025.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects at Downes and Wilson Funeral Home, Eagle Hall, St Michael on Friday, October 24, 2025 from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.

My favourite memory of Ruth was from my family’s first trip to Barbados together. We had just arrived at our accommodation and Ruth and Lisa came round with an unbelievable amount of food and the warmest welcome to the island. It was the best start to the trip and our reconnection with the wider family.
You’ll be so missed by us all.
Our trips to Barbados won’t be the same without you.

I still remember our first trip to Barbados a few years ago and Ruth made us trays, and trays and trays of food without us having any idea she was doing so. She truly was a loving
soul who will be missed.
