Evelyn Glendine Broomes, aged 87; retired Nurse of Emerald Drive, Lodge Terrace, St. Michael entered peacefully into rest on Friday, March 20, 2020.

Widow of the late Vincent Hensley Broomes;

Mother of Beverley Best, Anthony, Jeremy (UK) and Gregory Broomes;

Grandmother of Keisha Browne, Kevin and Jada Broomes, Ann-Marie, Alicia and Amanda Best and Cameron Broomes (UK);

Great grandmother of Kiara and Dazari Browne;

Sister of Randolph, Walter and Neville Oxley (USA) and the late Pauline Gittens, Wilfred, Vincent, Vere and Lawrence Oxley;

Aunt of Jeneatha, Ricardo, Trevor, Cheryl, Mark, Alfred, Marcena, Patricia, Neville Jr., Sylvester, Katherine, Anne, Ian, Milton, Glenville, Anthony, Andre and Faye;

Great-aunt of many;

Mother-in-Law of Wayne Best, Sharon Broomes and Fiona McCarthy (UK);

Sister-in-Law of Laurene and Louise Oxley;

Friend of  The St. Ambrose Anglican Church Family, Claudette Lady Lewis, Hazel Gibson, Wendle Sealy, Olive Oxley, Joyce Taylor, Josephine MacCoon,  Shirley  Brathwaite,  Angela Brooks, Natalie Figaro and many others.

The Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Evelyn Glendine Broomes née Oxley, will be streamed live from 12:30 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2020 using the link https://inlovingmemory.online/Evelyn. Interment at the Westbury Cemetery will follow.

Wreaths may be sent to Downes & Wilson Funeral Home on Friday, April 3, 2020 no later than 11 a.m.

Relatives and friends may pay their last respects at Downes & Wilson Funeral Home on Thursday, April 2, 2020 from 10 a.m. to noon.
