GARNETT ELLIOTT SMITH aged 97 better known as Mr. Smith or Dad of King’s Village, Dayrells Road, St. Michael; entered peacefully into rest on Thursday, ^th March 2026 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Husband of the late Hazel Best-Smith;

Son of the late Estelle Smith née Harewood and Gilbert Smith;

Father of Hazel, Pheona, Yvette, Wendy, Curtis, Jeffrey and Dexter Smith;

Adoptive father of Katrina Clarke the late Cheryl Ann Virginia Best;

Grandfather of 12 of the (USA and Barbados);

Great-grandfather of 18;

Great great-grandfather of 6;

Adoptive grandfather of Tyiah Clarke, Kaiden Lashley and Jamie Best;

Brother of the late Benjamin, Olga, Sheila, Errol, Verna, Gwendolyn, Violet and Sylvia;

Uncle of Rev. Vernon T. Smith, Roy, June and many others;

Relative of Smith and Best families;

Friend to Idalia Belgrave, Maureen Greene, Norma Sobers, Patricia, members of the St Matthias Mothers’ Union, the Men’s Fellowship and the Church family and many others.

The funeral of the late GARNETT ELLIOTT SMITH leaves Downes and Wilson Funeral Home Eagle Hall, St. Michael on Wednesday, 08^th April 2026 at 12:30 p.m. for St. Matthias Anglican Church, St. Matthias Road, Christ Church where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 2 p.m. for the service. The funeral will then proceed to the Christ Church Cemetery for the interment.

The Organist and members of the Church Choir are kindly asked to attend. Wreaths may be sent to Downes and Wilson Funeral Home on Wednesday, 08^th April 2026 no later than 12:00 noon.

Relatives and friends may pay their last respects at Downes and Wilson Funeral Home on Tuesday, 7^th April 2026 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
