Aged 99, died peacefully at home,

Beacon Hill, Lower Estate, St. Michael

on Thursday, January 18, 2024.

Former Personnel Manager of The Barbados Telephone Company Ltd;

Director of Cable & Wireless;

General Manager of Grenada Telephone Company;

Past President of the Lions Club of Bridgetown;

Founder and Retired Chairman of C & I Hardware Limited.

Son of the late Margaret Lynch née Burrowes and Stafford Brancker;

Pre-deceased by his wife, Violet in 1970 and his late wife Clyne in 1998;

Father of Althea Browne, Renée Steel, Irving and Deborah Burrowes;

Grandfather of Nicholas and Danielle Steel, Yannick and Tor Burrowes;

Father-in-Law of Roland Browne, Karl Steel and Ayodele Burrowes;

Brother of Myrtle Lynch (Canada), the late Norman Burrowes, Millicent Tull, Jean Fray, Ruby Inniss, Nola and Leon Lynch, Maria Thornhill, Eureka Lewis, Dorcas Millington, Egbert and Rawle Brancker;

Uncle to many nieces and nephews;

Relative of the Burrowes, Lynch, Brancker, Robinson, Stennett and Gibbons families;

Friend to Elma Lynch, Rev. Ezra Barker, Gloria Hinds, Sir Philip Greaves, Angela Batson, the late Henry Alleyne and others.

A Thanksgiving service for Ivan Frederick Burrowes will take place at James Street Methodist Church, St. Michael, on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 10 a.m. followed by the interment at Westbury Cemetery.

Flowers may be sent to Downes and Wilson Funeral Home on Saturday, February 10, 2024 no later than 7:30 am.

Relatives and friends may pay their last respects at Downes and Wilson Funeral Home, Eagle Hall St. Michael on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

    On behalf of my family here in Canada, I offer my sincere condolence to my cousins for the loss of their beloved father. Uncle Ivan was a caring and loving man to me, my family, and many others. His legacy includes the profound life he led, setting an outstanding example for others to follow. We will miss you Uncle Ivan. May you rest in peace forever and ever.
