MAGDALENE JEANETTE WALCOTT aged 78 of West Terrace Gardens, St. James; retired Binder Assistant of the Government Printing Department entered into rest on Friday, September 15, 2023.

Daughter of the late Sydney and Erla Walcott;

Mother of Natasha Walcott;

Grandmother of Trey Walcott Yarde;

Sister of Dr. Aurelia Best-Walcott, Dr. Rinaldo Walcott, Victor & Anton Walcott (all of Canada); Noel, Claudette, Jacqueline, Margaret & Andrea Walcott; the late Elsa Best and Irvine Layne;

Aunt of Deborah Best (UK), Carol Mayers (USA), Sydnee & Justin Walcott (Canada), Ricardo Layne, Gem, Leonard, Shawn, James & Joel Best;

Great aunt of Tyshawn Mayers (USA) & Tichina Best;

Cousin of Floyd Sutherland (Canada), Pam Odom & Sonia Best (USA); the Hon Dwight Sutherland, MP; Luther, Maralda & Allan Sutherland, Carl Phillips, Anne Bovell, Toni Best & Antonia Cadogan;

Niece of Thelma Cox (UK);

Friend of Kennedy Marshall (Canada), Malta Worrell, Jacqueline Springer, Esther Allman, Althea Bartlett, Kathyann Lowe, Sherwin Yarde and the Calvary Moravian Church family.

The funeral for Magdalene Walcott leaves Downes and Wilson Funeral Home, Eagle Hall, St. Michael on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 for Calvary Moravian Church, Roebuck Street, St. Michael where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 10 a.m. for the service.

The funeral will then proceed to Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, St. Peter for the interment.

The organist is kindly asked to attend. Wreaths may be sent to Downes and Wilson Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 no later than 7 a.m.

Relatives and friends may pay their last respects at Downes and Wilson Funeral Home, Eagle Hall, St. Michael on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m.
