MARIE ANNETTE MAYERS aged 65, well known as “Wendy” late of Rock Hall, St. Andrew; former employee of The Sandpiper Hotel, entered into a peaceful rest on Tuesday, 30th May, 2023 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Daughter of the late Winston and Violet Mayers;
Mother of Shinika Mayers and André Daniel;
Grandmother of Nevan Arthur;
Sister of George (Anthony) Payne, Sheila Smith, Celeste Edwards, Francis Scantlebury, Ulric, Irwin and Erskine Mayers, the late Dermont Payne and Edward Mayers;
Sister in law of Egbert Smith, Kathleen Payne, Cynthia Scantlebury, Barbara and Sandra Mayers and the late Philip Edwards;
Aunty to Shurla, Colin, Debbie, Sherwin, Carol, Nadine, Anneca, Junior, Alicia and Shawn;
Aunt, Great Aunt & Adopted Mother to many;
Relative of the Mayers, Payne, Alleyne, Brathwaite and Holder families;
Special friend to Gweneth, Frankie, Nikkos and many others.
A Thanksgiving Service of the late Marie Annette Mayers will be held on Saturday 17th June, 2023 at the Western Light Church of the Nazarene, Oxnards, St. James at 10am where relatives and friends are asked to meet for the service. The funeral will then proceed to the St. James Cemetery for the interment.
Wreaths may be sent to Downes and Wilson Funeral Home no later than 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, 17th June, 2023.
Relatives and friends may pay their last respects at Downes and Wilson Funeral Home, Eagle Hall, St. Michael on Friday, 16th June, 2023 from 4 – 6 p.m.
