With a sense of both sorrow and gratitude for his life, we the family announce the death of Neville Anderson Weekes, fondly referred to as “Andy” or “Wizard” formerly of Skeete’s Bay Road, Bayfield St. Philip; died at the age of 65 on Saturday, April 6th 2024.
Andy was the Managing Director of Andville Enterprises; a member of the St. Mark’s Old Scholars Association & Chorale & the Cable & Wireless Cricket Club.
Andy was well known to the Merricks, Church Village and Marley Vale communities, the staff of the Barbados Postal Service and several social groups in St. Philip and beyond.
He was the son of the late Lawrence “Cecil” and Ismay “Eudalee” Mason (nèe Weekes)
Andy was the Father of Kimberley Weekes, Shaniqua and Shaquille Haynes; grandfather to Ajani, Aria and Mateo Maynard, Haniko Proverbs and Truth Weekes.
Among his siblings are Syrlene Weekes (USA), Vincent & Clyde Weekes, Jacqueline Mason-Alleyne (USA), Hetty Blackman, Dave Mason (BVI) Elson & Lawrence Mapp, Cyrlene Brathwaite, Dr. The Most Honourable Stedson Wiltshire, Muriel & Velma Wiltshire.
He was the uncle to Sonia (USA), Toni, Ian, & Corey Weekes, Curtis, & Irwin Bascombe, Darnell Mason (UK), Tiffany Mason, Ebony Alleyne (both of the USA), Christina (BVI), Chrystopher & Chadd Blackman, Elson, Cheryl & Shelly-Ann Mapp, Rosson & Rumaryn Wiltshire, Chesterfield Haynes, Damien Bullen, Kayla, & Keona Brathwaite. He was also the great uncle to many others.
The nephew of Pearl Mason, Joyce Jordan & several others, now deceased.
Andy was Brother-in-law to Cynthia & Hazel Weekes, Luke Alleyne (USA), Beresford Blackman, Barry Brathwaite, Roslyn Wiltshire and Arlene Mapp.
In his extended family circles, he was a cousin to Marcia Kinch (UK), Michael Best, Marcia Blades, Marva Lashley, Wesley Bynoe, Cleve, Debbie, Cathy and Dale Mason, and countless others.
He was a relative of the Weekes, Mason, Lashley, Brathwaite, Inniss, Straughn, Coppin, Stuart, Bynoe, Sinckler, Howard, Maxwell and Jordan families.
Andy shared friendships with Anderson Howard, Eric Jerome Davis, Ryan Prescod, Antonio Norville, Hayden Coppin, Victor Sealy, Peggy Clarke, Roderick Simpson, Bromelle Harrison, David Inniss and many others.
The Service of Thanksgiving for the life of Neville Anderson Weekes will take place on Friday, April 26, 2024 at The St. Catherine’s Anglican Church, St. Catherine’s, St. Philip from 3:00 p.m. Personal Tributes & Appreciations will begin at 2:30 p.m. The Interment will follow immediately after in the Church cemetery.
The Organist and Choir are kindly asked to attend. Floral tributes may be sent to Downes & Wilson Funeral Home, Eagle Hall, St. Michael no later than 12:00 noon on Friday, April 26, 2024.
An invitation is extended to join the family at the visitation on Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 4:00PM – 6:00PM in the Chapel of Downes & Wilson Funeral Home, Eagle Hall, St. Michael.

I have known Andy for a number of years going back to the 1980s when we met at the Govt office where I was working at the time. Our friendship continued through the years and I knew him to be very respectable, soft spoken and also a genuine business person. I could call him at any time whenever we had a problem at work and he would be there as fast as he can.
My prayers are with you at this difficult time and may you draw your strength from God as you mourn his passing and lay him to rest.
