    A Tribute to Sade

Today, we celebrate the life of our beloved cousin, Sade — a woman whose heart was as generous as her spirit was radiant.

Sade was a giver in every sense of the word. She gave her time, her wisdom, her love — without hesitation and without asking for anything in return. When my daughter was heading off to England for university, it was Sade who immediately stepped into the role of big cousin. She had once walked those same campus paths, and with excitement and care, she took my daughter under her wing. She shared her tips, her stories, and even gave her the unofficial tour — pointing out the hidden gems only a seasoned student would know. It wasn’t just helpful, it was comforting. That was Sade: always there, always thinking of others, always leading with love.

Even in her hardest moments, Sade remained a pillar of strength. Visiting her in the hospital, you would expect sadness or fear — but instead, we were met with warmth and laughter. Sade cracked jokes, shared memories, and uplifted those around her. The nurses and fellow patients alike spoke of her jovial spirit. It was as if she was the one caring for them — that’s how powerful her presence was.

Above all, Sade was a woman of deep and abiding faith. In conversations, she would often say, “Whatever plan God has for me, I’m good with it.” She said it not with resignation, but with peace — the kind of peace that only comes from true trust in something greater.

Sade’s life may feel far too short, but the impact she made — the love she gave — will ripple through our lives forever. She was kindness personified, a light in every room, and a source of strength for so many of us. We are better for having known her, and we will carry her spirit with us always.

Rest well, Sade. You were deeply loved, and you will be dearly missed.
