October 13, 2023 at 6:45 amI’m in tears typing this because all my life I’ve looked up to Uncle like my Father. I Love him so much and it hurts me not having around so I can help. It’s too late now but I can’t hold back these tears. Next to my mum n dad was always uncle. After school I wanted to see him, at meetings I wanted to sit next to him and when he needed anything I was always there first to help him. He was my Daddy n I saw him as exactly that til this date. I avoided Uncle because I distanced myself from the JW and he was never happy about this and I’m sorry I never made amends and return just for u. I always wanted to but it just wasn’t in me anymore too. All I needed was our relationship n I lost it. You will have your place in the afterlife and I know you look forward to meeting up with us again in Spirit. I can’t wait to see u again n give u one last hug and help u with your bag.

October 11, 2023 at 2:29 pmWe are incredibly saddened to hear about the passing of Uncle DeVere. He was always so thoughtful and kind. He checked in on our family whenever he was in Canada, and it meant a lot to know he cared. He would always remember us and ask how my brother and I were doing. He even took the time to celebrate our academic milestones, which was sweet.
Family was so important to Uncle DeVere and you could see this reflected in his life. The love he shared for auntie Rosalind, his daughters Karen and Kathy, and granddaughters Rosa and Chanel was so profound! The relationship was so close, and you could tell he was extremely proud of each of them. He worked hard for what he had, and would do anything for his family, which was so admirable. Saying goodbye to someone who played such a pivotal role in so many lives is difficult. It is still hard to believe he is no longer with us.
We extend our deepest sympathy for your loss. Your husband/father/grandfather was truly one-of-a-kind, and he will be missed dearly by everyone. We send our love, prayers and support to your entire family during this difficult time. You are in our thoughts.
Love,
Carina & Corey Wharton
