MAYERS: VERA SELINA known as “Miss Joe” aged 90 of Bath Land, St. John, member of the St. John Church Mothers’ Union and the Church Army entered peacefully into rest of Thursday, 18th July, 2019 at her residence.

Daughter of the late Clementina Haynes and Joe Howard;

Wife of the late Joseph Mayers;

Mother of Rosemary Mayers, Betty Davis (Canada), Hetty Williams, Usteen Matthieu, Carmen Haynes, the late Monica Belgrave, Victor and Grantley Mayers;

Adoptive mother of Alexis Holder, Rico Goddard, Terry Greene and Vennis Belgrave;

Grandmother of Giselle, Kirby, Phelan, Naldo, Kim, Michelle, Hayden, Adrian, Julia, Chester, David, Karen, Amanda, Matthew, Mark, Zion, Skye and many others;

Great-grandmother of Sadia, Selina and several others;

Sister of the late Enid Bonus and Evelyn Haynes;

Adoptive sister of Iris Doreen Knight;

Aunt of Isla Husbands, Wendy Alleyne, Valston Haynes and many more;

Sister-in-law of Olive Grandison and Lottie Bishop;

Caregivers Clendis Greaves;

Mother-in-law of Alphae Davis (Canada), Kenrick Belgrave, Alex Matthieu and Anderson Haynes;

The funeral of the late VERA SELINA MAYERS leaves Downes and Wilson Funeral Home Eagle Hall, St. Michael on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at 8:15 a.m. for St. John Parish Church, Glebe Land, St. John, where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 10:00 a.m. for the service followed by interment in the St. John Parish Cemetery.

The Organist, members of the Mothers’ Union, Church Army and Church Choir are kindly asked to attend. Wreaths may be sent to the Downes and Wilson Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 no later than 7 a.m.

Relatives and friends may pay their last respects at Downes and Wilson Funeral Home on Monday, July 29, 2019 from 4-6 p.m.
