Aged 75
Of 6th Avenue, Wildey Terrace, St. Michael,
formerly of Ruby Park, St. Philip,
who was called home to eternal rest on Friday, April 4, 2025.
A beloved matriarch, cherished friend, and devoted community member. Yvonne’s life epitomised empathy, strength, and service. She was a pillar of love and unity within her family.
Daughter of the late Colborn Branch Husbands (former Headteacher and Education Officer) and Florence Husbands née Rayside of Pine Gardens, St. Michael;
Devoted wife of Peter Goring;
Loving mother of Atilola and Azizi Harper;
Stepmother of Ryan Goring (USA);
Mother-in-law of Debbie Harper and Greg Belgrave;
Grandmother to Jabari, Abayomi, Alexandria, and Addae Harper;
Sister of Anthony Husbands, Janet Thorpe, June Browne and the late Marguerite Young;
Dear aunt, great-aunt, godmother, and relative to many, including the Goring, Hall, Harper, Gulley, Burrowes, Marshall, Cox, Jordan, Browne, Thorpe, Husbands, Branch, Gittens, Rayside, and Graham families;
Friend to the Barbados Hockey Fraternity; St. Jude’s Village, Cheryl Hicks, Muriel Griffith, and the late Ruth Cherubin.
The Service for Mrs. Yvonne Pauline Goring will be held at the Chapel of Coral Ridge Memorial Gardens on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 3 p.m. followed by cremation.
The Chapel organist is graciously requested to attend.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects at Downes and Wilson Funeral Home, Eagle Hall, St. Michael on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
