BASIL ROY ERIC SANDIFORD, affectionately known as “Bree“, age 84 of Belle Plantation, St Michael; retired Chief Accountant of Berger Paints (Barbados) Limited, Past Master of Albion Lodge 196ER and Lodge Scotia 340SC, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 23, 2019.
Son of the late Goulburn and Myra Sandiford;
Husband of Barbara Sandiford;
Father of Stephen, Carol, Julia and Shane Sandiford;
Grandfather of Sanola, Ségan, Dominic and Evan;
Brother of Professor Emeritus Keith Sandiford and Muriel Locke (both of Canada), Stella Eugene, Harry and Birt Sandiford, and the late Hazel Manning and Grace Thompson (Trinidad and Tobago);
Uncle of Roger, Keren, Charles, Gale, Judith, Kimberley, Barbara, Juliette, Gary, Shelley, Peter, Maria, the late Andrew Sandiford and eight others;
Father-in-law of David Bridgeman;
Brother-in-law of Franklyn and Eleanor Yearwood, Wendy and Basil Lavine, Margaret Weekes, Myrna and Lorraine Sandiford, and the late Robert Locke, Hugh Thompson and Hamilton Yearwood;
Relative and friend of many.
The funeral of the late Basil Roy Eric Sandiford leaves Downes and Wilson Funeral Home, Eagle Hall, St. Michael on Tuesday March 5, 2019, for St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Bridgetown, where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 2 p.m. for the service followed by interment.
The Organist and members of the Church Choir are kindly asked to attend. Wreaths may be sent to Downes and Wilson Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 no later than noon.
Relatives and friends may pay their last respects at Downes and Wilson Funeral Home on Monday, March 4, 2019, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

We are extremely saddened at the passing of a very dear friend. While Roy’s passing comes as no surprise, the reality of the loss is heartfelt. Our prayers and condolences to your family. ‘Gone but never to be forgotten’.
Roy was, and always will be, my Dad’s best friend, and whenever we think of him, we will hear his larger than life laugh, over and over again. Our family will be forever grateful for his love, his caring and his generosity. While we are left here to mourn his passing and to make preparations for the body he left behind, Roy is in heaven laughing and joking with his compadres for old times’ sake, and deciding where the tomatoes should be planted.
This scripture helped me through the loss of my Dad. I hope that it will do the same for your family.
