My deepest sympathies to Naomi, Zahra, Malia, Toussaint, Thierry and Teferi.
I knew your father, Slanty, when we were children and young men in the same classes at Lodge and UWI. He was at once goofy and serious, smart and clueless, adventurous and reflective.
He was good company, passionate about many things … and he was mostly very kind and caring.
I wish you all to grow stronger as a family and to carry on his legacy.
Memories, courage and happiness in this time of sorrow.
    Sam Kaharabata, Toronto
