Aged 71 of Hillaby, St. Andrew; retired Teacher of Eden Lodge Nursery School, entered peacefully into rest on Thursday, April 7, 2022.

Daughter of the late Rose Cumberbatch and Olan “Tom” Sobers;

Devoted mother of Shari Cumberbatch;

Cherished sister of Ernesta and Orville Cumberbatch, Eudine Broome; and the late Delirita Bowen (USA), Chrissie, James, Vere and Beresford Cumberbatch (all of the UK);

Niece of Jasmay Edwards;

Aunt of Joan, Julie and Nadine Cumberbatch, Everton Bowen, Pauline Grimes, Alison Small, Roger, Ryan, Raymond & Rohan Broome, Fay Wiltshire, Janelle & Michael Jackson, Marcus & Marvin Cumberbatch;

Great aunt of Jamal Cumberbatch, Bianca Halliburton, Kamera Mendez, Janisa Small, Bailee Hinds, Aariel, Siara, Roshan and Aaron Broome;

Cousin of Dwayne Edwards and Kristin Turton;

Sister-in-law of Mark Broome;

Godmother of Damani Gilkes and Dwayne Haynes;

Relative of the Maynard, Sobers and Scott families;

The funeral of the late Ruth Malerna Cumberbatch leaves Downes and Wilson Funeral Home, Eagle Hall, St Michael on Wednesday, April 20 2022 for St. Thomas Parish Church, Arch Hall, St. Thomas where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 2:30 p.m. for the service, followed by the interment in the Churchyard. Monetary donations to Cancer Support Services are graciously appreciated. By special request, no mourning colours.

The Organist is kindly asked to attend. Wreaths may be sent to Downes and Wilson Funeral Home no later than noon on Wednesday, April 20, 2022.

Relatives and friends may pay their last respects at Downes and Wilson Funeral Home, on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.
