March 20, 2024 at 9:41 amThank you to Uncle Leroy, for standing by Auntie Hazel and walking with her through the hills and valleys of life during her latter years.
Condolences from our family, Ron, Kai & Israel (Izzy) Dallas (Los Angeles County, California. U.S.A.) to Uncle Leroy & all Auntie Hazel’s family & friends who are mourning during this time.
She was affectionately known by me as “Auntie” since we met when I was barely a teenager in the early 1980’s while she was working at Watts Health Foundation as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM). It was Auntie who inspired me to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) then on to become a Registered Nurse (RN) & work in Labor & Delivery.
Sing them over again to me, Auntie Hazel, wonderful words of life.
Beautiful words, wonderful words, wonderful words of life.
Beautiful words, wonderful words, wonderful words of life.
I cannot remember a time when Auntie Hazel spoke anything but words of life into my heart and mind. Auntie believed I could accomplish whatever I desired, even when I doubted myself.
This beautiful soul will be deeply missed. But I hope & pray that we all meet her again in the day of no tomorrows.🙏🏽
For now, rest on, my BEAUTIFUL Auntie Hazel. Rest on from this life’s worries, aches & pain.
Know that nothing or no one can ever take your place in my heart .
THANK YOU for the great gifts of loving & caring for me throughout the years.
Love you! ❤️
Love you!! ❤️❤️
Always your niece,
Kai Ann Dallas

March 19, 2024 at 4:04 amOur sincere condolences to the family and friends of Hazel. Hazel was a big part of life here in California. We shared many happy times together. She was there for the happy times and the sad times, we laughed together and cried together. We met in the late 60s and we always stayed in touch. I watched her career as she worked as a labor and delivery nurse in the hospital. She then decided to become a nurse practitioner and after graduating she began to work at the Watts Health Center in LA. She served the underprivileged young women. She was very active and took much pride in their care, she had a close bond with all her patients, she loved them, and they intern loved her back. She was impactful in the lives of all who had the pleasure of being around her. She helped financially of those who she could help, and always shared her home with her visitors from Barbados. She always wanted to leave this world a little better than she found it, and she certainly did that. To our beloved friend we say well done, SWEET SOUL , rest in peace 🕊️🤍.
